Primula crown

The crown area of a primula.

Colleen Vanderlinden
Definition: The crown of a plant is the area where the stems meet the roots. Most plants do best with their crowns planted at soil level so that they don't rot.
Examples: One organic method of weed control is to pour boiling water directly on the crown of the weed.
