Definition: An annual is a plant that lives out its entire life cycle in one gardening season. This means that it grows from seed, flowers, sets seed, and dies over the course of a single season. Many flowers and herbs, and most vegetables, are annuals.
Examples:
Cosmos, marigolds,and zinnias are all popular annuals.
