Use Vegetable Cooking Water to Fertilize Garden Plants

Next time you boil or steam a pot of potatoes or other vegetables, don't pour the cooking water down the drain. Instead, let it cool and use it to water your garden plants. Not only will the plants appreciate the drink, but they will also get a bit of fertilizer due to the nutrients that leach out of the veggies and into the cooking water.
