April Organic Gardening Tasks

Saturday April 5, 2008

For most of the country, April is when the real fun begins in the garden. By the end of the month, the soil is workable, temperatures are more consistent, and the garden is bursting with life. All of this means it's time to really get our hands in the soil again!

I know that in my garden, there is still some cleanup that needs to be done. The compost needs to be turned, and my vegetable garden needs a good topdressing of compost and manure. And, the season's first weeds and pests will be making their appearance. Keeping track of them before they get out of control is extremely important. It will ensure that you're not doing battle later on in the season.

If you're unsure about what needs to get accomplished this month, take a look at my Organic Gardening Tasks for April. It's going to be a fun month!
