Now that the holidays are over, it's time to take part in that yearly tradition near and dear to all gardeners' hearts: planning next year's garden!
The seed catalogs have started piling up, and I've been highlighting tomato varieties and herbs with abandon. Of course, then I look outside at my 1/4 acre city lot and am forced to come back to reality.
The good news is that, with a bit of creative thinking, I can grow a lot more in the space I have than I would have guessed. My article about how to grow more vegetables in your garden offers lots of tips for making the most of what you have. And, while you're planning away, why not take a peek at my article about how day length affects certain veggies. You may discover that your "failure" to grow fall beets or some other veggie has nothing to do with you (don't you love learning things like that?)
