Once you commit yourself to composing anything in your home that is compost-able, you eventually find yourself in a bit of a quandary. Unless you want to keep running out to the compost pile (or your compost trenches, or to wherever you've stashed your worm bin) you'll need to figure out a way to store those scraps until you are ready to add them to the compost. For some people, that's once a day, for others, it's more like "eh, when I get around to it!"
The key is finding a system that works for you and your family; one that makes it easy to save scraps for composting. It is human nature, after all, that if something is easy to do, we're more likely to do it. With that in mind, I've put together a list of ways to save your kitchen scraps. I hope one or two of my suggestions streamline your compost collection.
