Weekend Gardening: Make a New Garden
We're on the cusp of another spring weekend, and, at least in my neck of the woods, it's going to be a beautiful one. This is the perfect chance to get out into the garden and take care of some important gardening jobs. On my list for this weekend: constructing a new raised bed garden for my new addiction: herb gardening.
If a new herb, flower, or vegetable garden is in your future, consider building your own raised bed garden. After a couple hours of work and some simple construction, you'll have a perfect garden, ready for planting.
Oh, and if you're as intrigued with herb gardening as I am, pop over and visit Amy Jeanroy, the new About.com Guide to Herb Gardens. You'll be sure to learn a lot: Amy has been studying herbalism for 20 years.
Happy gardening!

Hi Colleen! How wonderful to have an organic gardening site on About.com!
Here in Australia, Northern Hemisphere ‘this week in the garden’ type stuff is always the opposite season, so I hope you might keep your antipodean readers in mind with the occasional Southern Hemisphere seasonal post!
With the drought, and my compost heap still ‘cooking’, I’ve not had much success with my first attempts. Bitter greens and stunted beans. Ah well, a learning experience!
